Tokico HP struts
Are they any good? I need all 4 struts in my S5 vert and for 244.00 for all 4 corners picked up locally I don't think that is bad. Also gonna order RB lowering spring to go with them..

My FC came with a set of the HP's and some Eibach springs. The car rides a lot more firmly than a stock suspension FC; people see me approach their abrupt driveway inclines and start freaking out, thinking I'm going to scrape, but the suspension is a lot stiffer than their stock FCs thanks to the struts / springs. The car just pops over the bump without hitting the front bumper on anything.
So yeah, I've got HP's on my FC and they are great struts IMO.

Great shocks if you don't need the adjustability of the more expensive options with damping adjustment.
They are a great upgrade over stock if you're looking for something with a little bit more performace.

they are a good, cheep shock but they are not designed for high performance driving. If you plan on doing autoxing or hpdes save some more money and get some KYB AGXs or Tokico Illumnas, or even better Koni Sports if your willing to dish out the $$$. If your just street driving tho and dont plan on tracking it HP will be fine, just dont lower the car too much because they like to blow up after like 1.25in drop

They're good shocks as long as you stick with softer springs like ST, Eibach, and Racing Beat. If you throw stiffer springs on (RS*R Race, custom Ground Control), they'll blow up quicker than you would imagine.

I think I'm addicted
their performance is worth their price =)
for me, if money is not a big concern, i would go for adjustable shocks (Tokico Illumina, or even then future D-spec) or koni adjustables and go with GC (Ground Control) kit.
I think for myself a good rule is this:
if u buy non-damping adjustable shocks, don't get adjustable ride height (GC kit)
if u buy some damping adjustable shocks, get GC kit with it, (mind u, not drop zone crap)
if u really have money, get HKS, Apexi, Tein full Coil-overs.... but I personally would stick to GC kit.... (its pratically the same thing without the pillow-ball mount)
Tokico HP (or blue as people call it) is good, paring with Eibach sportline/prokit or Tein S-Tech stuff like that, they are fair in their performance

Ar eyou talking about the blues? Sounds like it.
When I bought mine one turned out to be a dud. So I got another under warranty.
The replacement also crapped out.
The next one didn't fail, though, and it's been over two years. Great shock.
