Hey wudup...Im looking to buy tires for my s5 TII wheels im planning on 205/50/16 (front 225/50/16 (rear) Now i cant decide between Yokohama Es100s or Dunlop FM901s or Azenis FK451's I just wanna know whos had experience running these on ur fc? And which choice seems the best. im looking for good grip/with some rain traction. if any of u have tested these tires or are currently running all info is greatly appreciated. THX ALot!

 

I have the yoko ES100's, and those are really good tires. The tires that my car came with were a horrible tread design, and when these were put on, it was like a new car. They also have good rain handling, too. I got a good deal $75 a tire, on tirerack.com

 

FYI-You may already know the 205 x 50's are only @ 24.1" and the 225 x 50's @24.8. Most run 205 x 55's in front so as diameter the same. If you have ABS, could activate with such a large difference.

 

Or you could just run 225/50 all the way around. Seems to be a popular fitment for all the stock TII wheels.

 

Correct, but depending upon the cross section width, some makes of 225/50 will not fit upfront, without some work/modifications.

 

All I had to do on my 87 was nick about 1/8" off the lip of the spring perch with an angle grinder.

 

That's correct, a little grinding does wonders, again depending on the make. The Michelins I had a while back (225 x 50's) would have never fit with only .125" off.

 

Yea i was considering 205/55 up front and 225/50 in back.but im also wondering which tire wud be better, im definately considering the es100s tho.

 

I got the Yokos not too long ago, and traction increase is night and day. But then again I went from 205/50/15s to 225/50/15s so that might be it. I consider the Yokos a really good bargain and perform good in dry/wet.
