tire sizes

Ok guys,
I was wondering what's the min tire size for a 1990 Turbo II.

I want a low profile tire...so I was thinking 205/45/R16

The stock on this Rim (stock rims) is 205/55/R16.

Do you guys think 45's would be ok...or would it be better to get 50's?

You're going to screw up the speedo in the rear.&nbsp If you don't care about that, run any tires size you want.

You should only get lower profile tires if you get larger rims. Lower profile tires on the stock rims would throw your speedo out like Ted said, and also make your car look silly because of the smaller diameter tires you’re now running. If you want 205/45 tires you actually need 18” rims to match the stock rolling diameter.

Try comparing the overall height of a 205-55-16 to a 215-45-16 or 225-45-16. Sidewall won't be much different but you get a wider tire.

perfect suggestion, I have 205/50/ZR16s and I wouldn't dare go any lower in profile. If you do it will look like that Porsche from the movie "Bachelor Party" but I doubt anyone remembers that
