Tire fitment

I’ve decided to run 17x8 with a +30 offset all around (front/rear). What’s the best stretched tire size for the fronts and rears? Should I run wider tires for the rear than the front? Or just run the same tires all around to be able to rotate them. I was thinking of 215 for the fronts and 225 for the rears. Or should I run different sizes.

Thank you

Check out Rimtuck. You can search up Rx-7s and there are pictures, wheel specs, and tire sizes. Would give you an idea of the tire size you want for the look.

On that small of a wheel I'd forgoe running a stretched tire, instead get a nice 225/45 sport tire and enjoy the grip 👌

Edit; stretching like a 200 or 195 on a 17x8 will give a nice sidewall profile for stance/fitment, but looking at the tires from the front or rear of the car you'll find them looking too skinny

I used the official wheel fitment thread for the FC to research and get visuals of what tires/wheels looked like on the car.

Mazda would put a 225 tire on an 8" wheel, and they are correct. its pretty optimal for performance.
a little stretch is good, in the last race car we were running 205's on a 9" wheel, and performance was very close to a 225 on an 8" wheel. race cars have rules, so 205 let us do other things

205's on a 9" of what diameter? I'm running 215's on 18x9" and that's enough stretch to hide the sidewall behind the fender while keeping the rim lip on the outside o:

15's... the Hoosiers run wide too, which helped.
