Tire Choices

I posted this in the tire/wheel section earlier, but theres a lot more traffic here. Please excuse the double post.
My rear tires are getting kinda low on tread, so I'm going to replace them soon. I've been looking at the BFG G-force T/A KDW's. I found them for 125 at Sams. Are these really as good as people make them sound? Any other recommendations? Ive got TII rims - 16x7 - with 205-55-R16 tires. Can you go a little wider on these rims? Also, should I replace the fronts tires at the same time, or does it not make much difference. The fronts have Barum tires with about 5k miles on them. They're decent tires, but nothing to write home about.

According to a tire size calculator, 225/50-16's are the exact same size as 205/55-16's, so I think Im gonna do that.

I'd recommend Kumho Ecsta Supras. My friend has them on his 300zx and they handle really well. Whatever you do, don't get Goodyear eagles... Mine are horrible when it's cold outside. They're harder than rocks!

Actually, thats what I've got on my rears. I like them, but I was looking for something with even better handling. I'm thinking of just waiting until I have enough money to buy 17's and get Gforce KD's. Maybe get some Yoko's for now, or something.

Bridgestone potenza so-3. i dont think they are too pricey in the states either.

front tires should be fine with only 5K on them, unless your alignment/camber is way off

The front tires are fine. The alignment is great, and the camber is ok. Its set to a very small amount of camber (relative to what it can have.) I add some more camber when Im at the track, but its been a while since its been there.

try potenza s-03.
i found them to have the best compromise between wet, street (treadwear), and track (once you heat them up real good).

i dunno about kdw's but i like the falken aziens, and believe it or not. the nankang unidirectional are great tires for cheap. almost as grippy as aziens for like 45 a tire. only problem is they blow in water, snow. anything less than dry really.
