Question Timing Question: CAS All The Way Clockwise, Car Runs Poorly

i've been driving my car for the past two weeks.
been havin a LITTLE trouble starting my car.
today i popped the hood for some fine tuning of the timing. and noticed that the CAS was turned all the way clockwise.
i turned it a little bit counter-clockwise.. but all it did was cause the car to die off.
what would the reason be to need to advance the timing so far forward?
could it be a bad CAS?
i also have a small rectangular plug just hanging near the CPU and the internal fuse box under the dash.
its a clear colored plug, just curious what it plugs into?
aside from the i'm having the 3k hesitation problem and power pretty much drops after than... doesnt pull as hard as it does before 3k rpms..
i raced an FB gsl-se today and got spanked 3k rpms onwards.. lol.
he also has a 13B.

it just doesnt feel as strong as it used to.
even after the streetport.
could it be bad injectors maybe? i've replaced the solenoid for the injectors.

For the power loss, make sure your auxiliary port sleeves are opening.

For the timing, whoever stabbed the timing probably did it wrong.

I am having the same problem with timing. I have to have my CAS turned all the way clockwise. I thought the CAS was stabbed incorrectly at first as well but I reinserted it one tooth over clockwise and again one tooth over counterclockwise. And on both trials the car wouldn't even start. I know I have the CAS inserted correctly but it must be turned all the way clockwise to get a decent idle. And when I use a timing light it is extremly advanced. What gives?

If its all the way clockwise, then its all the way advanced. retarding the timing (counter clockwise) will lower the idle so you may have to raise the idle with the idle air bypass screw.

If your idle is rough with the timing at stock or slightly advanced. Follow the instructions below for tuning the idle AFR. Also make sure you have no vacuum leaks and that your BACV is working correctly.

I would first get a timing light to check and see where your timing exactly is.

man. i'll do it this weekend (i'll post a video of me doing it incase i'm doing it wrong.. i can only hope to get flamed than told straight) lol..
what if the engine is under-torqued?
i turned the car off and i heard a hissing sound. like something was slowly releasing pressure near the rear of the driver-side engine.
i'm going to pull my engine out this sunday (record it too lol)
and re-torque the engine.
i'm hoping its has low compression because of that.. or helpt it out atleast..
i'm not too confident on how it got torqued down (dowel pins).
didnt have a torque wrench handy so i had to do it on the fly. and guesstimate..
and i'm going to install my new goodies this weekend also.
just a quick thought. lets say my engine just has low compression..
lets say i cant do anything about that. would turboeing (what i originally planned to do) be better off because of this little problem?

Do you have AC because AC will do that, so will the cooling system sometimes, which after the car is shutdown are the only things to do that.

Are you losing coolant? If you aren't your tension bolts are fine. You can also take the cover off the cas to be sure you're getting the timing right.

as for the clear plug by the cpu in the passenger compartment under the dash its probably the baro sensor or maybe the knock sensor. if you have an na i would check the aux ports see if there opening. have you upgraded the exhaust? also check the grounds make sure there good. i think i rememeber something about that. howd you have rebuild your engine? are they trust worthy?

well actually i rebuilt it.
i read rotary ressurections write up on the break-in process.
and maybe i'm still not passed the break-in process for compression to build up good enough. which is what i'm leaning towards (referring to starting problems)
but i'm going to use my spare front cover (with a spare CAS) and restab it.
i yanked my motor back out to inspect everything.. make sure my apex seals for good and such.. good news on that too.
i found a little fluid which i'm thinking some of the rain that drizzled the other day maybe found its way into the motor threw the runners. but not much.
