so..i got my engine running..thanks to all the help guys...
now the timing parts...
ok!! check my timing..
L1 nothing..til i push the wire deep into the coil and hold it there... then the timing light will start working WTF!!??
L2 = working fine..
T1= nothing...as off NOTHING..no light on the timing gun..= no sparks???
T2= nothing..as off the same as T1
I'm like WTF!!!!...
SO! i change the coil from the car that i know it's working..
same thing....know this..new NGK plugs..new plugs wires...how can i set my timing if i have no sparks..

my car is up and running.although a bit rough
thenwhen boost kick in, it hasitate..is it bc of my timing..and it's backfireing like a MATHA FOGGER!!!
need some more help guys...

 

what kind of wires? fat ones?

L1 and L2 fire at the same timel

Set the timing using the L wire that is showing the engine firing in a regular pattern.

Do the timing with a warm/hot engine. Not cold.

Do the timing with the rpm under 1100 rpm and as close to around 700-800 rpm.

Install the initial set coupler if it makes you feel better.

Just use the Lead wires for the timing right now. The T should be on the mark when you get through. If not, there's not a thing you could do about it anyway (more or less a true statement).

If using a inductive timing light, try to reverse the way the clamp is on the wire. You know. They usually have a arrow on the clamp that points toward the engine? So on the wire that does not fire in a regular pattern.....reverse the clamp on that one.

Again in case you missed it....both the L1 and L2 fire at the same time and one cannot fire wihout the other firing. Just don't work like that atall. (Sorry, English ain't my first language).

 

what if!!.. i was trying to set it today but!!! the cas won't move!!! lossen the bolt ( i see only 1 ) and it won't move @ all..any trick on doing this??

 

Before you start ******* around with **** that might make everything worse, why don't you VERIFY that the coil is dead first???

Pull the spark plug wires off the spark plug and put it close to a known, good ground point.&nbsp Crank the engine over the engine and verify that the spark plugs wire is firing - a friend can help you with this, or listen carefully for the TACK-TACK-TACK of the spark plug wire arcing into the ground point.&nbsp I usually pop the rubber covers off the shock tower and use one of the shock tower studs as ground.

Most inductive timing guns do NOT fire consistently on these cars, especially the trailing coils.
