Question timing light doesn't flash on #1 T

Weird......... I can't get my timing light to flash when its hooked up to the #1 T plug. It flashes just as it should on the other 3 plugs. And the engine is running perfectly so it can't be that the #1 plug isn't firing....... right?

Have you pulled off the spark plug wire to see if it's sparking? Tried a different location along the wire?

I hook mine right up next to the boot on the L1 coil.
If its not flashing hooked up there, I would think that your coil is bad and is not firing. There is a test either in the haynes or the FSM using a volt meter to see if the coil is good.

There's a trick where you pull the boot off either the coil or the spark plug wire and still allow it to fire.

The longer gap forces the coil to fire a "stronger" spark to jump the now-huge gap.
This should trigger almost any inductive timing pick-up.
