Time to buy the wife a RX
My wife has been driving my RX7 for the last 6 months while I've been training for iraq and now she refuses to drive her old car (and so do i) so its time to buy her one.
I found a 1990 GTU with a rebuilt kilo racing motor in it (or so he says) with 4k miles on it. the suspension is going to need some work its got about 190k on it O_O and its got a blank spot when I checked the TPS so need a new one of those. The car is in good condition otherwise and is pretty much stock. The guy wants 3k for it. what do you guys think should I get it for her, try to drop the price a bit, or find a different one?

I don't know what the demand for FC's are like where you're at but to me that seems a little high for what it needs. My fiance and I just got her a 87 turbo II with 83K on it that is bone stock. We picked it up for $2800. Here is a link to my thread in the mountain section with pics if you're interested in seeing what we got.

I think you should get it if it's really rebuilt.
What I'd do is:
-Get a friend to go with you, and take $2500 yourself.
-Then let your friend hold another $500 in his wallet.
-Offer and show the seller the 25 you've got, and if he refuses, ask to borrow $100 from your friend, and offer him that.
-If he wont take it, borrow $100 more, and say 27's all you'll do.
-And then grab the other hundred from your friend.
Just remember to get the money back you didn't have to 'borrow' from your buddy once you guys leave .

Ask for a copy of the receipt for the engine, or at least some type of verification from Kilo Racing. If you get it, then the car sounds like a good deal. If there is no verification of the engine, then the seller is full of crap, and I think you are better off looking for another car.

well If it is truly a rebuilt engine from Kilo, of Kilo Racing in Orlando Florida, then it is worth it, but demand proof. Kilo is a great builder of rotaries in the SE
