TII in! what do you think?

First i wanna apologize for the crap i wrote with flashoptions, i did NOT end up going through them b/c they never answered the damn phone. I ended up goin through japanstar. i just swapped the motors and i'm hooking up the last lines. compression was good on the motor and turbo was good also. i wanna know what kind of power i can expect from my mods and what you guys think of my setup. be honest, bash me if you must but be i wanna hear what you have to say and if you think it will be safe to run reliably.

mods. (S5 TII)

3" turbo back exhaust
TID mod (civic intake)
Knight Sports FCD
Blitz super sound BOV
Manual boost controller
ported wastegate
O.S giken twin plate
boost gauge
AFR gauge

I ended up keeping the N/A rear end and using a clutch type diff. used the mazdatrix driveshaft. I have the JSPEC and ASPEC ECU. which one do you think is better to run? have the proper Boost sensor and AFM and the TII fuel pump(S5 TII). let me know what you think. thanks guys.

Did you plumb the BOV back into the intake bast the AFM, if not, you're going to have stalling and idle problems...

You need an SAFCII to add some fuel under boost or you'll kill it.

how much boost do you think i'll hit? i ported the wastegate pretty good, but i see your point.

how much hp should i make? mid 200s? maybe 270?

My BOV is open air vented and I have zero problems. Why would you have stalling and idle problems? It only will run rich momentarily when you let off the gas. Also, I don't think we can advise him to add more fuel when he didn't even say what boost he is running. Obviously the wastegate is ported so he's not gonna creep.

the jdm ecu has a speed cut on it, so I'd use the usdm one.

i had to chop a little off of the intake and buy a clamp for the afm. it is the aluminum one. no major modification really. get the 92-95 series, almost a perfect bend.

i'll see what i can do about some pictures, but the area i live in, wont allow my phone to send pictures anywhere, sorry, but my camera phone is the only digital camera i've got.

Correction.. I'm not familiar with the blitz BOV.. if the BOV leaks under Vac.. like a stock one... you will have all sorts of problems with idle and such.. However, if that blitz totally seals under vaccume.. it shouldn't mess up your idle.

As for the SAFCII, dude says we shouldn't advise you on putting fuel in.. HOWEVER.. more moost, = more fuel demand, plus, 7's tend to run rich at idle once you start unrestricting the intake, adding a fuel pump... And.. you're gonna push it... its inevitable!!!!!!! So its a good decision to put one in... just tune it with a reliable wideband and keep your AFR's under 12 at boost....

YOu might still get boost spike, depending on how good you did the porting on the waste gate.

YOu have the O.S giken twin plate, how much did you buy it for. Could you give your opinion when you have the car running.

check flash option reviews, its so funny, there company is based in malaysia, so theres a warning on there site saying that its not there fault if it takes a LOONNNGGG time to ship, otherwords they never send em, check the reviews, so many people have been waiting 2 years and still havent got there engines in

will do, i'll let you know how the O.S. giken feels i'm curious about it as well

the O.S. Giken was on the motor and so was the BOV. they didnt charge me for it, they just left it on (i dont think they checked for it), i split the motor from the tranny b/c i was gonna buy a ACT clutch kit, but found a surprise instead. the motor and tranny come together and shipped for $1000 (no ecu, cut harness) but they garauntee their motors and the guy will even pay for the shipping if the motor is bad. www.japanstarmotor.com you have to call them b/c the 13bt is not on their webpage. i know others from this forum have gone through them and i havent heard anything bad, the service is good and i got it in 4 days, literally! (i live in lowsiana for now)

Hey bro,
BTW I definatly was not doubting your knowledge...I know that you know much more about these cars than I do. You are 100% right about the stock BOV BTW. My comment about not adding fuel is because he never stated what kind of boost he is running. If he has a fully ported wastegate, he could be running as little as 6-7 lbs and may not need to add fuel. Take care man...

i got the engine started yesterday, and i have to say... WOW!!! the motor runs great and i have to say that i didnt get ripped off!! i drove it around for a little bit and that motor really pulls strong and consistently! the swap was pretty straight forward and since it's a JSPEC, there arent as many emissions equipment. i took off the ACV and airpump, even used the yoohoo belt until i get the dual alternator pulley, with my mods and ported wastegate, i'm only seeing 8 lbs boost in 3rd, i havent really mashed it yet, just givin it a little time to get used to running again. the os giken has a harder pedal feel, but very smooth engagement. i have to say i got very lucky and if i every have a problem with it, i know who to take it to. (Kevin Landers). i was able to do all of this and all my ?'s were answered, by doing the infamous !!!SEARCH!!! technique!!. that is why i have so few posts and threads. i gotta say thanks to everyone on this forum and god bless the people who started it, this is the best rx7 forum in my opinion and i've seen em all!. i'll keep you updated with all my progress and any setbacks. looking forward to driving it and hearing any responses that you have!
