Tii Vs Gxl

Hi,

I'm really new into the RX-7 scene. I am getting an FD probably next year as a project track car. But I need a Car Now.....so i'm thinking of getting an FC....i do canyon carving....so i don't need tooo much power and wondering if i should bother looking for a TII....i mean turbo would be nice...but N/A is usally lot smoother....anyways...here are the questions:

1.) If i rebuild my turboII motor...is the life really bad like the FD?
2.) Am i able to fix up a N/A to be alright? I don't need mega horsepower (like 500)....just enough for me to do canyons the way i used to...say...about 250-300...

especially since that its a pain the butt to do a turbo II swap to an N/A...just want some feed back

I'm just conscerned about the life expectancy of a FC motor...i know they tend to last longer than the FD...just not sure how long...and this car will be my daily driver and canyon carver...

btw my last car was a 240sx but got totaled in a car accident...i need something new...the hood of that car is soo loooooooooooonnnnnnngggggggggggg.....and i've always been interested in rotaries

FC motors will last as follows:
TII:140-160 Thousand Miles
N/A:160-180 T.M.

A n/a tranny can only withstand about 250 horsepower MAX. Go with an n/a. They are cheap, fun, and easy to work on. Find a 1989-91 (or series 5) because they have more horse power and are a little sturdier than the previous ones. If you want 300 hp, simply swap the drivetrain out of a TII, and keep on going! Good Luck!

first of all, any fc, or rx7 for that matter is great in the turns. If yourre planning on 300, the tll is a far more suitable candidate, the umph at the end of the turns is great.

thnx for some feedback

I have found a TII in my area....
has about 90k in new engine....but thats the thing...means it prob has well over 150K on chassis....

he's asking 3k for it....

is it hard to change the suspension set up on an FC?
i gotta change alot of things on a chassis with 150K+ miles on the chassis

i've been checking out blog sites to enhance my knowledge...other help will always be appreciated...

insurance is only gonna give my 5k for my car....so i'd like to spend about 3k-4k so i can use rest on bills i have....

anyways..thanks again for those that responded
