TII vs. 360 Modena??

How much do I have to have horse power in my T2 to beat 360 ferrari on highway? I know I dont have a chance to beat ferrari in top speed but it would be nice to compete up to 130mph. how fast Ferrari goes from 60mph to 125mph (100km/h to 200km/h)? Just curious..

Ferrari 360 Weight: 3197 lbs, hp:400 bhp, torque:373 Nm. Question: If TII has ~400+hp and +400Nm tq will I beat Ferrari? TII weights much less than ferrari. Is it really that simple?? Some how I dont think so...?? Have any of you guys competed against ferrari?

you also have to take into account gear ratios. that is the MOST important factor to take into account.

I'm not sure, but i played with one in mine when i was runnin stock boost. We got up to like 120, but i dont think he was all the way on it cause he wasn't pullin away fast at all. But I'm sure there are some guys on the board that could take one.

lol funny you mention it. I almost had my chance to get a 360M convertible kill on saturday although I know i'd be the only person to believe it lol.

We both punched it in 2nd coming out of a right turn and initial acceleration was just about the same and at that point I realized that unless he has just as massive as a top end as I do, he'd lose. Unfortunetly, the bastard let off before I hit full boost and we were still in the exact same position

All in all, I was more then confident id beat him after seeing that although I was intimidated at first.

the hardest part will be getting the 360 to /go/ heh

they run a ~12.8 so i'd imagine that they trap about 110mph. A TII with, what, 250rwhp will run a 12.8? maybe trap a little less than that. probably a 300rwhp fc would beat a 360 in a quarter mile and from a roll, until you start getting past 150mph and then the ferrari would probably start to pull (not that you'd have much left anyway)

once you get close to 400rwhp then it would be no contest up to probably the top speed of a 360.

heh...not trying to start nuthin, but 350z's and VR4's ain't shiet really. slow and too heavy respectively. My friend killed both of them in a N/A 300z. Good kill on the m5 though!

lol I understand. The 350Z really isnt too much. The VR4 I beat had a reported 400m time of approx 12.9. The owner posted on the thread in the kill section as well.

The M5 surprised me, I thought it would be faster. I also posted a kill on my friends FD with nearly the same mods. And most recent was my other friends turbo miata lol its pretty quick.

You gotta remember though...the M5 is a family sedan. A family sedan with 500 hp...but a family sedan nonethe less. Very nice kill on the turbo miata though! Those are lil biotches to catch.

You have to also realize how much more engineering has gone into the Ferrari.
Factors like downforce over 100 MPH (I would only assume this would be the average speed of a "highway race"), suspension, and aforementioned gear ratios.

It would take alot, but it would be nice to see a white haired old fogey cry after the small displacement Jap motor eats his Italian stallion alive.

It won't matter as your TII will run out of gear right as the 360 is getting to its sweet spot at 150+ mph...

and if you run at night... dont even bother- the pop-ups will suck AT LEAST 5mph from your top speed.

uhhh...

Your time and energy would be much better spent building up an FD for this task. You are dreaming if you think you are going to get 300+ HP out of an FC without it giving you nightmares and headaches. The FC was not designed or engineered to outrun a 360 Modena, plain and simple. Why don't you just stick some bananas in his tailpipes?

Good luck anyway.

Sorry to say I totaly disagree with Genshie. I have a friend who has a "Daily Driven T-II" running high 11"s on the street with 370-375 to the wheel. And he drives it every day, of course dont get me wrong, im sure if he starts taking the car off the hole everyday, and driving it hard then **** somethings bound to break after awhile.
Genshie is right though about the "FC" not being designed to outrun the 360 Modena, due to gearing and other engineering aspects.

Let me clarify, you can definitely get 300+ HP out of it, but not without consistent issues, and it will not be a reliable car at all. Not that the Ferrari is, but at least it is engineered for that kind of power. You want a Ferrari killer, get a Supra. Now that motor is engineered to take 3x the HP it has stock. Good luck finding one at a reasonable price though.

dyre: 8000rpm in fifth gear in a TII is ~175mph. A street port will peak at ~7500rpm, so you'd still be in the powerband.

furthermore a 360 Modena has a coefficient of drag of .34, and the FC is lower than that (.33? something like that.) On the highway weight won't matter nearly as much as drag and overall power. gear ratios do come into effect, but the 360 modena's powerband is close to a modded TII and the gearing i do not feel would have as much of an effect.

The fact that the F360 is mid rear engine means it gets good launch thanks to more weight in the rear.

I Think you guys have forgotten the ORIGINAL thread!! I was talking about 130mph and now you guys talk 175mph!!?? And it is probably the stupiest idea on earth to compare TII to Ferrari on any level!! First of all Ferrari costs 10 times more than TII so thats it. PERIOD! And of cource reliability suffer everytime you tune up your engine. Stock TII has 200hp and ferrari has double. But I still think that if you have 350rwhp (or more) TII it would be tough to Ferrari to beat it on let say from 50-60mph roll. IM I RIGHT OR WRONG??
