TII troubles

ok heres the low down. i bought an 87 tII 6 months ago. the guy i bought it from said the seals were bad. so i bought a 89 tII motor and dropped it in. i got it to work but it idled really high like 2 1/2 and i couldn't take it over 4 1/2. vaccuum problem, anyways i tried to drive it home from my friends house like 3 miles and it starts acting really weird blow off valve going off like crazy i hear a really loud whirring sound ( friend took off the air pump) then the car dies. I push it the rest of the way home. from then on it never started again. the egi comp fuse blew, i replaced it and it blew again. i thought it was flooded so i took the plugs out there was black stuff on them looks like oil. i disconnected the fuel pump and let it crank to clear it out. i checked for spark but it's intermittent. sometimes i get spark from trailing and not from leading and it stops. then later i get from leading and not trailing. then nothing from both. i tested them days apart and it seems whichever i test first that day gets one good spark then thats it. batteries fully charged. also every time i turn the key on i blow the egi comp fuse. and the engine dumps like a gallon of gas on the ground when i try to start it. it doesnt gush but it's a good drip. so now i don't know what to do next. any help would be great sorry this was so long.

Whoa - TOO MUCH INFO!

Where are you located?

Is this just the Kouki short block into the '87?

You probably already know this, but......the 87turbo most likely had the low impedence fuel injectors of 2-3 ohms and the newer motor most definetly has the high impedence injectors of 12 or so ohms. Did you make adjustments for that? Like take the injectors out of the old motor and put them in the new motor?

Most likely other issues here too, but what about it?

See this site http://www.rotaryperformance.com/pages/page12.html#e and look at the fuel injectors and the chassis numbers.

injectors

no i didn't swap them out. i didn't know there was a difference. but i remember that while we were swapping them the electric plug connector on one of the new motors injector broke so we used one of the old ones. so the engine has three new and one old. could that be the problem and what should i do?

i was thinking the same thing! the s4 motors and the s5 motors have entirely different ecu's they will not run each other! not at all! did you swap out the s4 ecu with an s5 TII ecu? if not i can guarantee that is your problem!
