Well, they should fix it then. The exact same thing happened to that guy I know who is a member of the Cincinnati RX-7 club. He had his FD's engine in for 5000 miles when all of it sudden, it started knocking and seized. Atkins TRIED to get out of the warranty by saying that the engine failed due to a bad installation (the installation was handled by the region's better rotary mechanics). Well, Atkins is now covering it and your friend ought to do the same...

Yo,

It's a bummer about your car, I did dig that burnout video in the garage. And I don't want this to get all flamey, I've been a Vosko fan since the early burnout videos and the (infamous) snow video. That one is the greatest.

So Vosko, did you sell your blue GXL? And what's all this about an FD? What kind, how much didja get it?

Yeah, atkins rebuild. Look like I over revved it after doing my burnout. Had the revlimiter set too high at 9k. I should of put that at 8k next time.

The engine sounds like ****, there is no way daily drivinging would see so much damage. Sounds like a dryer machine with several hammers in it turning.

Yo,

Damn Vosko, why don't you get serious about your FD? Get a bigger turbo! *snicker*

Looks good, don't suck any small children into that thing.

You find a good home for your GTU?

Well it finally went huh.... Lasted longer then I thought though And nice run man at least you got to 13's with it . Plus you have the FD like you said and having the T2 was good practice. But you say your going to fix the T2 up in time right? That will be very sweet.

My friend has a NA that he prepped for SCCA ITS racing. He had a new atkins rebuild. Before he ran it at the track, he brought it out to an autocross to feel out the suspension some more. First harsh driving after the motor install. Main bearing went after 3 or 4 runs. During the teardown, I think he found that the oil galleys in the eccentric shaft were plugged. Not sure though, as it is over my head. I just know that it is starting to sound like it is time to avoid Atkins rebuilds.

I'm very sorry this has all happened to you guys. I know each of you well (especially Carlos). Vosko, I don't know how you have the money to burn on these cars like this with you being so young......either you have a damn good job or your parents have spoiled you!

If it was me, I'd have my car sit for awhile after all that I've been through..

Carlos, chill on the freakin mods man! You definitely don't need to be pouring out the cash new engines when the ones you've had were new! Whew, it all starts with wanting more power.....

Thanks for the tip on the rpm limit. I'll be extra cautious and set mine at 7500rpm. Ignition cut, not fuel cut.

Now I know I'm going to chill with my car!
