TII stock turbo PSI

When I first got my 89 rx7 a couple of years ago the turbo was running at 17psi boost, and it hasn't had any major problems since. For the turbo to be running with this amount of boost, would the fuel injectors and pump have had to be upgraded?
I'm just trying to determine whether the fuel system in my FC is stock or not.

sorry it was 14 psi now that I think about it.

The exhaust, ecu, and radiator have been upgraded.
For 14 psi, these upgrades as well as an upgraded fuel system are enough aren't they?

The boost controller had something stuck inside the rubber hose connecting to it to block off any flow of air. So it's at maximum boost I think.

'maximum boost' is subjective, and running a wastegate that stays shut all the time (which is what a blocked or open air actuator line will accomplish) is a GREAT way to blow your turbo or motor. for that level of boost for basically any turbocharger on the 13B motors: yes, you should upgrade your fuel pump and injectors, and have a way to control fuel injection. 14psi on the STOCK turbo is a bad idea, it runs it too hard, too hot, too fast... do you have a stock turbo?

ON a stk car you would have hit fuel cut around????? 6-8 psi and the car would have fallen on its face. No way you'd reach 14psi without a fuel cut defender.

Do you think running the turbo with this much boost may have caused damage to the compressor blades that you
can see in this picture? Perhaps with the higher temperature that results from
more boost, the blades could have warped, become fragile and chipped.

Is there something I can do to prevent this from getting any worse, besides decreasing the boost?

that had to have been caused by debris, too much shaft play in the turbo, or someone jamming some object into the turbine.

btw don't use that turbo as it is.

Wow.... hopefully the missing pieces of the compressor fins passed through the engine, and turbo hot side with minimal to no damage.... yikes...

I'd toss that turbo in the trash. If you're lucky, you could buy a new cold side... but you don't know what the hot side looks like till you pull it apart...

Stop running the engine immediately until you can replace the turbocharger and clean out your intercooler and charge pipes.
