TII starts then dies

So im having a problem with my TII. I was driving it the other day an it was running good had more power than before i rebuilt it. I never took it pass 4000 cause i just rebuilt the motor. But i was driving an it started to run like it was a 4 banger missing. I took it home parked it an couldnt get it to start for the next week of so. I took my uim off an checked everything tryed starting it without my uim an it started ran an died. It has ok compression for it being rebuilt with my old housings. Its pretty equal on all 6 faces... i set my cas like it said in the book at the little dimple in the cas not the pin holes...but im still in the break in i have only about 15miles on the motor so far. But i got it to start an it sounds like i said a 4 banger runnin on 3 then if i rev it to like 1400-2000 an dies then makes a pop in my exhaust. I got it to rev to 3000 today an held it there but if i let off it just dies instantly an theres no saving it like if u know its goin to an it starts to die to floor it. the car wont idle either. I havnt im pretty sure theres no vaccum leaks i checked when i had it running with carb cleaner an there was no differance..but if anyone has any idea please let me know i really wanna get my car back on the road. the only things i can think of are my maf my fpr or timing. i havnt had it idling to the point were i can check my timing.

im not too sure about this, something like this happend to my 84 GS, i never could figure out what the problem was tho. i was told to check my fuel system. but then again these are two entirely different cars, carbd vs ingected. do you have a way to get a scanner to hook up to the comp, that my tell you a little more. sorry i cant help any more than that.

If the MAF isn't plugged in, the car will crank, then die. I imagine it'd do the same thing if it were bad. Mine did this the other day, I knocked the plug loose and it wouldn't stay on. Other than that, check all the usual suspects. Make sure you're getting spark, fuel, etc. You could also try to pull codes from the ECU.
