Did some searching, but most we talking about swapping from S4 to S5.

So here's the situation. I bought a beautiful rust free S5 Savanna, and it needed an engine. No problem, but it will need two rotor housings, two rotors, and a rear center iron to rebuild it. So in my searching I found an S4 RX7 with a ton of mods, that was freshly rebuilt a year ago but then not driven much. Bought the car for parts, and the engine passed a compression test with flying colours.

So to get going this summer I want to put the S4 engine into my S5 Savanna.

What will I be looking at? Do you think it would be worth opening the engine up and putting O-Rings in with my S5 plates as well? Then it would be a direct swap, right?

Also Note!!! The Savanna is running MegaSquirt and pre-mix already, no omp needed.

Id use the s4 long block,s5 sensors,wiring,s5 turbo and exhaust.
basically engine swap with s5 electricals.You don't have to worry about the omp if it is deleted.(so premix).

 

Ok awesome. I thought the outside irons were different. That sure sounds easy then!

 

I got an s5 TII keg in my originally S4 Base N/A ,so ya it is just plop in and Fiddle around with some stuff.(sort of)..heh,heh!
