The manual steering was an option on the '87 TII only...

if you want to try driving mine youll know, 1987 t2, powersteering optional

no regrets, except when im parking, because i always end up crooked as a result of laziness (it takes so much effort to move the wheel)

BTW: for those that have never bought a new vechicle if you have enough time ahead of your order you can get your car built with whatever options you want... My dad ordered a honda accord back in 1992 without P/S, in LX trim but with the DOHC Vtec that came in the EX. So if you have a wierd oddball option it is always possible that they ordered it that way..

Also I bought an 87 "sport" that was FACTORY optioned with a t2 spoiler instead of the duck bill.. It was a one owner car and I remember the day it came home with the spoiler, special order....

No PS here. It's not that hard. But PS feels good, but I don't feel connected.
My GF can't seem to drive my car with the short shifter and the manual steering.
She only drives straight in first gear in the parking lot for like 20 feet, and goes. Yey, I can drive your car...

There was a DOHC Vtec on a 92 honda accord? Are you sure?

It was an option on the '88 TII, but was standard on all the other models in '88.

My '87 TII has it, rubbish. My '87 SE didn't have it and I'd love to get rid of mine sometime soon. They're not bad at all with out it. Personally, the driving experience is much more enjoyable.

It may have been the SOHC Vtec My 94 accord had the DOHC, that may be why I was confusing it.. Either way for enough money you can order whatever you want..

Oh FFS I read the thread wrong. I was thinking you were talking about transmissions for some reason. Ignore my previous post .

I got 3 hours of sleep and it's really early. DON'T JUDGE ME!

The 87, 87.5, and 88 models all had the option for Power Steering.

89-91 had it standard.

I don't think so.
We had a 1993 2.3 sohc rated at 125hp. The optional engine had dohc, but not vtec and was rated at 140hp.

He's talking about the ongoing discussion on whether there existed a '92 DOHC VTEC Accord due to the talk about how car companies deal with special customer orders, which does have some bearing on the discussion of whether all '87 TIIs had power steering or not.

Considering you posted transmission information as an answer to a question about power steering, I don't think you have much room to attack others for posting irrelevant information.
