TII Rear Caliper (play in parking brake bracket)

i'm starting my brake conversion (T11 calipers and discs on a gen 1) and i need to change some of the hardware for the handbrake cable, i had to remove the large spring and arm that the cable sits in as i am replacing all this, my new set up doesnt have the spring and the arm the new braket sits on move in and out 5-8mm (on both calipers) is this normal?

thanks Mark

bump no-one else seen this?
i put some fliud in them and they dont seem to be leaking, does this lever just push a rod or is it a pressure system as there is no movement in the piston with out any pressure from the brake fluid
