TII owners with RB turbo back help me out here.....

What are the dimensions of the "main" presilencer that comes with the kit. I have been thinking about what I want to have as my exhaust on my TII once my TO4 is installed and I was thinking about two of these units over the regular canisters because the presilencer is 80mm and the canisters are something like 2.5" which is smaller. I wanted to run a dual 80mm setup using RB's 80mm DP and 80mm piping to a pair of these silencers. I know they are shaped kinda wierd too so if you all have pics of on outside of the car i'd appreciate a link to it. I remember seeing a thread a while back, which I am hunting down, that had pics of this setup. Thanks!

You mean the length, width, height, correct? And are you gonna use these as mufflers? Heh.

Yeah I know they are 80mm straight through but I have no idea the size. I am just trying to figure out if they will fit at all. If they so then I will have to figure out if I can get piping to them and have the outlet flang removed so that it looks like a normal muffler outlet pipe.

I think I still have some more pix of the presilencer stored away in my yahoo photos. Let me know if you want some more.

If you can wait til this weekend I can take measurements of the presilencer while I port my wg. Also you should note that the presilencer has angled flanges. Let me know what measurements you need.

Basically the LxWxH of the canister and the position of the pipes and if they are straight, angled, offset, etc. I beleiv I can do the rest if I have that info all I have to do is measure the rear muffler shielding area and see if we can make something work.

I have the older, blacked out version that was sold until roughly last year...just before they changed their parts suppliers. I believe some or all of the parts have changed since. Mine is roughly 18x12x3.5, just about the size of a regular car muffler. IF you need exact dimensions, call me during the day (after 1pm est) and I'll go measure it. IT's off the car for a few more days.

I can't measure it for you, as I sold the car, but they are ******* HUGE. Far bigger than the mufflers.

Cool thanks kevin! I'd still like to see what the new style measures though since that is what I would be purchasing from RB.

Santiago

PS- Are you interested in an S5 N/a core? I may have one if I get this S5 GXL i'm looking at and i'll be putting my S4 engine into it.

yeah, I may be interested.

Why not just call up RB and ask them for dimensions of their current presilencer models? I know the NA versions are much smaller, similar in size to a glasspack. They're not nearly so quiet, though.

For ilike2eatricers response. Since you have the "old" setup it may be different than the new one.

OK. Length from flange 2 flange = 2 ft. 4 & 1/4 inches. Length of the presilencer itself (w/o piping) = 1 ft. 4 inches. Width is 8 inches. Height is 5 inches.

Thats cool I am probably going to make a mockup silencer out of card board and see how well it will fit on it. Are the pipes centered on it?

They're both centered, but one angles out a bit.
