TII not starting

I just got this car a few days ago and I knew beforehand it had some electrical problems. However, lately it seems as though the car never wants to turn over. When I turn the key I get a clicking noise but the engine does not begin to turn over. I am a complete idiot when it comes to the electrical systems in cars so any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking it may be a bad ground but the odd thing is sometimes it does start after about 10 minutes of wresting with the wires, pulling fuses, etc.

Battery needs a full charge!
Check all your connections. Are they clean?

How old are your + & - wires?
It's cheap enough to change these wires atleast. Maybe even new post clamps.

If it's a new to you vehicle then you should check over everything!!!!
Air filter, plugs, and fluids.
When were the spark plug wires, fuel filter, and coolant last changed?

check all of the connections at the starter. make sure they're clean and tight. also check the battery cables and ensure they're also clean ant tight. check the cables for any breaks in the cable as well.
