I was going to try to find an alum. N/A hood when I get my FMIC. I mainly wanted to do it for the sleeper effect, but if it actally HELPS air flow into the radiator and oil cooler, then that gives me another reason to do it =)

Note that low pressure does not necessarily indicate a reverse flow. Low pressure is simply lower pressure. For example, you may have noticed that when your local weatherman states that your region is experiencing a "low", it doesn't mean that all the air is suddenly going to flow into outer space.
I have personally tested the TII scoop up to 70mph, and I can assure you that air flows into the scoop just fine.

what makes me think this also is>> i was driving down the road with my tII hood... forgot to bolt scoop in and i hit say 60. it's the way the scoop flew off is what changed my mind... i can't say your wrong though and i don't want to, OR fight about it... agree to disagree....
i think the best thing to do is to allow for more air travel, what ever you do.... prop the back of the hood> add reverse vent> cut holes> what ever floats your boat.... its you car thats going to overheat, not mine, so do somthing
by the way>>>>>>HAPPY 4TH OF JULY<<<<<<<

thats is also a strenghtening factor in why this design should work on the car as well. The top edge of the cowl will sit about 3/4 of an inch higher than the back of the insert, thus getting it into the laminar flow over the hood.
I got my website up and running again, I'll be posting some pics of the design process and of the vac tests with the smoke generator.
If it works on the car (i have yet to figure out how to hook the smoke generator up under the hood of a running car!!!!), I've hooked up with guy here in york who makes dunebuggy bodies who says he could reproduce it for about 150 in 'glass and about 190 in Carbon Fiber. We'll see.

edit: i seem to recall a piece made for the factory t2 hood scoop that would replace the inserted piece (the forward facing scoop) with a 2 louver (i think) reverse scoop piece. get it painted to match your hood and it looked pretty clean. someone bought one and had lots of pics up...but it was awhile ago and i can't remember who or find it in a search.

After thinking about the Vaccume under boost comment... yeah, i'll take the bullet on that one, after dealing with carb'd v-8's for 15 years, its kinda hard to get it out of yer head that vaccume isn't always present in an engine!!!
