Will an 87 TII hood fit on any 2nd Gen?

every second gen except those with a non turbo engine.

words can't express my disappointment when someone pops a turbo hood only to see an n/a sitting there grinning ignorantly at me.

lol, but it cuts .1 off my quarter mile time so i can break into the high 14's!

of course it also creates more drag which probably negates the weight savings once above 75mph.

So a TII hood will not fit a N/A 2nd Gen? What body changes were made to TII's that won't allow them to fit?

hell you could be right, but these days 14's as are considered pretty damn slow. i bet even 4 door hyundai base models run low 14's.

Well if it was an NA 20B, i don't think 16 should be any bit of a problem

Unless you just suck as a driver. Then you're just as useless as your neighbor with the Prius.

argument invalid

quote:
I normally don't post in these racing threads, but I have had 5 years experience with a nearly stock na FC.

I doubt the mustang was racing.

My na had rb muffers, pre-silencer, cone air filter, and emissions removed, for most of its life. I had nopi stage 2 clutch at a point.
Not sure if I had all these mods on for all the races/encounters I had.

Im embarrassing myself by posting this
But in my experience my na rx7 has been beaten or matched by a:
95 subaru impreza wagon,
early 90's honda civic hatchback,
a toyota prius going up hill after a turn (Idk how the **** this happened),
an early 90's corvette,
my memory gets fuzzy on the rest of these but, maybe an integra, and eclipse, I forget what else.

There could have been something wrong with my Fc, who knows. I don't think so. It was my daily driver for 5 years.

But anyway
Im sorry but I find it amusing when owners of na fc's post race threads thinking they have a fast car.
Put a bridgeport motor in or add a turbo, then post up what you've raced.

Convertibles got aluminum hoods.

With my rebuild on the turbo swap about ready to be back on the road I have to decide what to do with my alum n/a hood. I've got TMIC and still need to paint the turbo hood..or drive it two tone till I make some decisions on paint.

There is ****-tons of TII swap information in this section. You ought to look around a bit... A sort of "search" per se.

So a TII not running a TMIC, what would be the purpose of the TII hood? Isn't that about as worthless as having it on a N/A?

So why do people say it's such a bad thing to put a TII hood on a N/A? I guess the same reason people diagree about the rotary-piston swap.... why does it matter?

No, it isn't really like that at all. There are particular reasons why people put a piston engine into an RX-7... they don't do it for looks.

The TII hood is for functionality, when a 13BT with stock TMIC is sitting under it. With a 13B under it... It is only for looks. It is personal preference.
