tied up a couple fab projects

so i been tinkering around the shop and finished up some projects ill start with the lower tie bar i didnt just want the typical bar that only mounts using the inner bolts so i came up with this
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=a-armbracket.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/a-armbracket.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

machined the brackets out of a solid block of 6063 and the bar is 1.750 x .750 6063 tube
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201114_1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201114_1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201114.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201114.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201123.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201123.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201124.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201124.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

mounts pretty nice and solid as all hell.

next i ducted my air box from the bottom of the bumper, i kinda felt the whole time i was makeing this i was building a vaccum cleaner attachment
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201128.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201128.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201128_1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201128_1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201128_2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201128_2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

mounted it using some 4-40 pem nuts in the part and S.S. 4-40 flathead screws, just needs a grill and some flat black paint
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201202.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201202.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

and the inlet to the air box

<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=Photo11201203.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/Photo11201203.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/?action=view&amp;current=DSCN0190.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa216/fast87t2/DSCN0190.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

That airbox and inlet is bad ***! You actually might be able to get a few buyers for them.

Is that a wine bottle cork in your oil pan?

LOL! I love the irony... A guy can fab some pretty cool stuff, but refuses to run to the auto parts store for a new oil pan plug...

that looks like a quick disconnect hose fitting, I've seen them before, has a valve inside that opens when you connect the drain hose. Makes for a very clean DIY oil change.

What kind of metal and thickness did you use for the box? I'm making one myself
