I've been searching for an old thread on custom TID how to's but I cant find it anymore.

Anybody have a site or link to where a walkthrough is?

The only real problem I have is how to install the stock BOV?

 

uhh... it's not too hard. Get a 2"-3" reducing rubber, a 3"-3" coupler, a 3" 45 degree ABS or PVC pipe and that's it. Put it all together and put the maf sensor and filter on the end. you're done.

 

WHAT?? Did you forget that our cars have a stock BOV and a check valve that is plummed inside of the intake track? These have to be accounted for or else the car will run like crap. If it was that easy we would all have a lot better TID's.

Im in the same process right now. I have the intake tube im going to use but now i need someone to weld me in a couple of nipples so that i can hook up the BOV and check valve. Shouldent be too expensive.
Im trying to keep the location both of these items as close to stock as possible so that theres no problem.
Ill keep ya updated.

Im should have this done by tomorrow, cuz i really need to get this done. I also plan on fabricating a wall between the engine bay and air filter so that i can block out as much heat as possible.
Ive been using a cone intake since i bought my car and its been sucking all that hot air under the hood for so long. This is SO bad for the engine. I reccomend you do the same ASAP.

 

WTF? anybody ever heard of an aftermarket bov that vents in to the atmosphere. If u do it that way, u dont have to vent it into the intake. Come on people, its not that hard, listen to vietfc, he is correct on this subject.

i would not use that type of cone filter though or the type you get from autozone. the reason i say that is because i have a friend that had a cone filter like that on his car and on a warm day the glue that holds the bottom inside the cone broke loose and was sucked into his intake.

 

install a few bleeder valves to the vacuum line to the bov to eliminate the venting at idle.

 

how much is the cheapest BOV that actually works?

There was a blue rubber sealent and electrical tape at the end of my shitty rubber intake and I believe some part of that let go and bent the fins.

Better to get a new tid BEFORE I get a new turbo, dont want the same thing to happen again!

 

i gotta piston type, and theres no prob with it. screw the stock bov. i just have a 2.5" mandrel bend 45 degree angle go straight to my turbo. no extra tubes.

I have made a new bov but this small hose is now sitting in the open.
its a check valve correct!?! what should I need it for?
