Ticking sound while accelerating

Hey everyone!

I have a little problem. I have a FC T2 and when accelerating I hear a ticking sound from the passenger side of the car. We thought it might be an exhaust leak but from the middle of the car from my downpipe there is no leak.
At the back after the Y pipe sometimes there is a small waste water on the ground.

When the car is in neutral and standing still I cant really hear it, and when revving the engine in one place I cant hear it either. Only when rolling and accelerating. If I accelerate gently I can only hear it quietly, but when accelerating hard its louder, not that loud that I go deaf but I can clearly hear it.

I dont know if any of you experienced something like this before but it just bothers me. Though the car starts and runs fine, boost is okay, so actually the car runs and drives perfectly, just this ticking sound I dont know where its coming from.

4th gear is 1:1 ratio input to output with engine RPM, does the sound go up and down evenly in 4th gear, as this would make engine speed = driveshaft speed and be tired to drivetrain.

Is it a bent heatshield on one of the brakes, clicking as the rotor goes under it and hits a high spot? Rear diff ration would cause it to be out of time with engine RPM and seems disconnected.

Actually it goes up pretty evenly in 4th gear but I only hear it while accelerating. I dont hear it on decel and at idle.

An idea for motor (rpm) verses speed (drive train after trans) is see if you can tell the difference in any gear by rpm or any gear by speed. I would think motor/exhaust noise would be more rpm dependent while others would be wheel speed dependent. Is the frequency "guessable", i.e. slow/fast relative to human perception, etc. I have a brake pad that moves some times and makes a ticking sound at slower speeds. A rock in a tire is a example of wheel speed noise as it will stay the same for a given speed independent of engine rpm. Over the years these things have made ticking sounds, loose bolts on rotating part, creaked wheel, loose wheel, flapping body work/trim, road debris stuck to car flapping, solenoids, relays, electric motor/pumps.

I would put it up on jackstands, first inspect for anything that looks like it is rubbing, then do again, just in gear.

Given that it is only happening when accelerating, it makes me think that engine torque is twisting something enough to touch and make the clicking sound. Grab the intake manifold and put it side to side while the engine runs, or such.

Well I think we found the problem.

I have a RacingBeat downpipe, and 2 of 3 bolts loosened up so that the downpipe could wiggle a little.
I think thats where the ticking sound came from. Tomorrow I will see it while driving, but it must have been the problem.

Anyways thanks for all the answers and help guys
