Throttle issues

On my 88 vert the other day it would pull for 2 seconds and then not pull. It was if I was flooring the throttle then suddenly letting off. It did this the whole time. Thw tps ohms fine before the run and after. I searched the forum and 99% of the time it was recommend to check the tps.

any Ideas
Johny

sounds fuel related. maybe a dirty fuel pump strainer? check fuel pressure, also check your cats.

check the tension in both the throttle and cruise control cables. FSM calls for 1-2mm freeplay in the cable when properly tensioned. Make sure the retaining clip for the cruise control cable nut is still there.

Are you saying the RPMs were up and down even though you weren't on the throttle?

Bad/misadjusted TPS and vacuum leaks are throwing the ECU for a loop so it is trying to compensate with the BAC. It then overshoots, gives up, tries again, overshoots, etc. and it repeats into a cycle.
