Throttle Body Questions
I am ordering my haltech, injectors, radiator, and so forth getting finally ready to bolt back together my car....its been a long long time and several grand later....but here is my question.
Who makes aftermarket Intake manifolds (Jay-Techs seems to be offline or something now) and what aftermarket TB can be adapted. I was looking at Holly's with the tps 75mm. My question is if I get a custome intake manifold made would that flow more than the stock? They also make an 80mm which would be better for a 3mm street ported engine running t04, haltech, and 1600cc secondaries.
Thanks

I currently have the secondary plates out of the TB right now it wouldn't be a problem doing the grinding out of the extra metal. But how bad is the actual intake manifold itself. I figured if I was gonna have to get an aftermarket intake manifold that it would be easier to match up to a single plate/hole TB.

I wish I was driving!
Such as a mustang TB? They are very simple and flow very good. Only problem that may arise is idle....
You could easily get an custom intake welded up, which could include this single plate tb. It would be far easier to mount though if you had an aftermarket EMS.
A single plate TB will flow more than a three TB plate of the same plate area. An 75 mm would flow about 15-20% more cfm than the stock TB, even though the stock TB has more plate surface area (78mm).
But I do not see the point.
Just swap on a FD intake manifold an TB. They have bigger plates, and can be ported and modified to accept bigger plates if they become a restriction (they FC ones can too).
You would not gain too much from a custom intake, unless you had one that contained a custom aftercooler.
Just go with a FD intake and get it extrude honed if you need to switch. You will be more than happy with it.

Haven't we ALL heard this
If you are willing to spend the money to buy an aftermarket intake system. Try this Extrude hone. They will put a very porus material through your intake system and smooth the insides out. About 585 for the whole intake. If I had the money I would do it. Check out their website. http://www.extrudehone.com/

You will probally have to download the pdf file for the price list.
Good luck
