throttle body question

I have a 1989 RX7 convertible N/A S5 obviously. I need to get the upper intake manifold off. Do I need to remove the throttle body first? If I don't what do I have to remove to get it all out together? If anyone is willing to walk me through this would be wonderful. I have a vacuum leak on the UIM gasket. Or seems like a vacuum leak. Very very poor idle but runs fine above 1000 RPM. It happened after I tried to get the manifold off to clean the BAC. I really really need some help here.

No, the FSM shows the whole upper intake coming off as one unit. That said I usually take the dynamic chamber off then the UIM. Either way I don't remove the thottle body by itself. There are some links in the stickies at the top of this section to the FSM. Look in for there instructions. I will say one of the bolts holding the two together is under the fuel rail and easy to miss.

I personally take the TB off, than the UIM, the nuts for the dynamic chamber can be tough to get to IMO, taking the TB off isn't that difficult, BAC lines, throttle/cruise cable, and 4 nuts (12mm IIRC), loosen up the secondary injectors and its out

Are you saying you take off the TB and the remove the dynamic chamber and UIM as a unit? If so I have heard of people doing it that way as well. If not taking off the TB doesn't do anything for access to the nuts of the dynamic chamber.

no I leave the dynamic chamber attached to the UIM and take them both off at the same time
