A thought on turbocharged N/A conversions

OKay, instead of just making an adaptor so one could bolt a stock turbo on to an N/A engine and then fabricating inlet ducts, intercooler tubing and such, what if a person were to just bolt on the lower and upper stock TII intake manifold? Then you wouldnt have to make a special turbo adaptor, and you could use stock TII exhaust components. You could even use the stock intercooler and hood. The only problem I see would be where the 4-port manifold meets the six port engine, but it seems to me that you could port the manifold or engine to create smooth flow.

For those who are willing to take the time to make the turbo adaptor and fabricate inlet ducts and the whole bit, its seems to me that it might actually be easier to just go with the TII manifold and such. Opinions?

Hmmm, yeah, and what about the oil and coolant lines for the turbo?&nbsp Do you know the stock Turbo II uses a coolant passage THROUGH the rotor housing for coolant to the turbo?&nbsp Are you going to drill holes through your rotor housing?

sure why not? mazda did. it wont work though because the bolt patterns are different, and the ports dont line up (6pt vs 4 pt)

These would be the same issues that people who are slapping the turbo adaptor on their N/A induction engine would experience. So these are issues that have to be addressed, but assuming you figured that part out, would you see any other issues?
