I definitely wouldn't use the stationary gear. As for the housing, it's too hard to tell from the pics.

if it help if I run my hand on the housings I cant get a finger nail caught on it ,but I can feel it

yeah that gear is bad!

yeah i cant really tell about the housings either. generally they are scrap if theres crome flaking on them, ussually this is near the edges of the housings. if theres a really reall small amount its "ok"... but wont last really long and can only get worse... what kind of compression numbers were you making on this housing before you tore it apart??

need better pics too

hey just a guess but did you have bearing failure??

i bought the housig from a memeber that said the were"good" housings. I'm nervous about using them and thinking about sending them back

I just went out side and ran my credit card over the grooves and it doesnt catch on it at all

Do you have any close-up pics of the housing edges? To be sure, you should very carefully scrape your nail *right* on the edges and make sure you weren't missing anything.

If you can't catch a nail, there's no flaking and the edges are carefully inspected for chipping/flaking and no deep(er) scarring--you'll probably be fine.

How many miles are on the housings?

The chrome on the housing looks pretty nice, but that gear is ******* wasted, the chipped teeth should tell you that.
