Thermowax hose from water housing came off can I plug it?
OK, I every time i filled my coolant up water comes pouring out. I found out it was the hose that connects the thermowax assembly to the top of the engine housing. I can't fit my hands in enough to get it on. I mean I can feel it but I don't have enough room/power to get it in place, so what I am wondering is if i can plug it with some large screw and a hose clamp? Leaving all the other hoses to the thermowax still assembled. I really don't want to take this whole upper intake manifold off again. I already did it once because of this same hose came undone at the housing (i really hate this hose). Also if anyone knows a way to get it on with out having to take off a mass amount of parts please tell me. Oh and one more thing, just to make sure the only disadvantage of disassembling the thermowax is emissions right? or maybe a better warm up too? Nothing that will actually hurt my car?
Thank you so much.

Zach

do what I did:
- full TB mod ( thermowax removal )
- drill/tap the nipple on the rear housing
- block BAC valve
- drill/tap nipple on the rear of the water pump
you'll be pretty much done with.

Bite the bullet, pull the intake manifold off, and do it right. Coolant leaks are bad, m'kay?
If you fill that hole, you also need to fill the one on the back of the water pump, or it'll come through from that side & make a mess.
Either put it on properly (my preference), or get a L-hose & bypass the whole assembly (what's currently on my car due to a molded line failing).

What about connecting the hose from the housing to the one that goes from the firewall side of the BACV to the thermowax with a hose connector? Dose a hose come from the Water pump to the thermowax too?

Well I found a hose connector that fits (the housing to thermoswax and the BACV to thermowax), I connected them and put two hose clamps on to make sure its tight. Seems like the easiest solution. And I don't have to remove the UIM. If I am doing something wrong or forgetting something, please say so.
