thermostat temp?

thermostat temp?

I've got an 87 turbo and i need to know what temp thermostat i should get cuz i didn't have one in it when i bopught that car. Thanks!

X Mazda dealer tech, 180, just about all Japanes cars go with this temp, also the PCM is looking for the temp rang when maping fuel. So I just don't undersant why peaple have to use something other then factor spec.

the mazda oem one is 195, but I would go with 180...

No, it's 180. I just got one from Mazda and it's marked 82degC (180degF). As per the FSM it starts to open at ~180degF and is fully open at ~200degF.

my thermostat is 180degrees from autozone for 6 bucks, I hear they suck though... I havent started the new engine up so I guess time will tell.

Yeah, for some reason the one in my car when I bought it was 195. I bought a 180 from autozone and "modified" it. I drilled four holes in the outer part of it. It runs a little cooler.
