Thermo switch

Ok, I have an 89 S4 GXL. It has no a/c, heat, powersteering, emissions. Well the radiator leaks, and I suspect is cloged. So I ordered a new radiator and they sent me an s5 radiator. It doesn't have the thermo switch in the bottom left.

Is it needed if I'm not running AC?

if you have an 89, then it's an s5. 86-88 is s4

Nope not really needed. What I have done in the past is just jumpered the two prongs together.

Trust me its an s4 with a couple s5 parts. dash, throttlebody, OIMP, bumper, mirrors, everything but radiator mounts is s4. its a very early 89 2+2 GXL, not 2+2 anymore tho

If you jumper the two wires of the switch together it will want to cause a high rev initial start even if its very cold out, which is not that much of a problem if you're located in a warm climate.

I believe the high rev start system requires the BAC to assist in this high rev process.
