Thermo Fans

I have a series 5. i want to create some room in my engine bay. i saw a guy today who had a thermo fan which allowed him to throw away all his factory ducting where his factory fan was? how does this go with cooling capabilities. from what i saw today it freed up shitloads of room.

Lots of people on this board have electric fans, including myself. I have never heard of any problems, and mine has been keeping the temps lower than stock (of course I also replaced the radiator).

yeah, it's a lot more roomier. Although i didn't have one at first, i would recommend a shallow shroud with some fans. i.e. the 16" spal.

Go to a junk yard and you cant find one with a shroud. Works perfect. 180 temps. You can also buy a thermoswitch wiring kit from jeggs or summit for like 30 bucks. Wire it up and make some brackets and you will be done in under an hour.
