Question Is there one way to fix all electrical problems??

Ok i have some problems with my electricle stuff.
1. The major thing i need to fix on my car is the windshield wiper switch, it only works on Intermediate and no other settings work.
2. The seatbelt light is always on.

Ok so i just need to know if there generally is one way to fix these kinds of electricle problems, Ive read that resoldering the connections work and replacing the Logicon, But first of all where would i resolder the connections and what is a Logicon and WHERE is it??

Thanks for the help!!

The logicon is the climate controls... it has nothing to do with seat belts or wiper.

The wiper switch fix is very well documented in hundreads of places including the past posts of the board. Again here is a link for fixing it: http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/HOWTO/WIPER/wiper.html

For the seat belt, have you checked to see if it is plugged in at the switch on the drivers seat belt latch???

If you don't know exactly what is causing the problems, the first thing you should do is buy a multimeter (digital...go to sears it's $29). That will give you all the tools you need for diagnosing electrical problems. That way you don't buy a switch that you DON'T need. Maybe it's just a bad ground causing it not to work. As for the switch though since it's only working in 1 position I do believe you have a bad switch in this case. You NEED a wiring diagram to find out where all the wires are for the seatbelt though. Electrical problems are pretty easy when you know what to look for (and have the tools/DVOM). It takes patience though...
