Are there 89-91 rx7s without a sunroof?

I am looking for a car to start a major project with. I prefer to start with a GTU or GTUS. I was wondering if they made any 89-91 cars without sunroofs. It doesn't matter if it is TII or not.

Thanks,

Christopher

The only model without a sunroof that I have ever seen or heard of is the GTUs.

come on Dave you should be able to answer better since you had (have?) one.

All the verts don't.

I agree with Dave, I think the only 89-91 model w/o sunroof was the GTUs.

Earlier you could find sports, and a few GTU models without roofs, as well as the basic models.

And in my book a vert is a really big sunroof.

The sunroof was only an option on the 89-91 models. You could get any of the models without a sunroof, but most did have sunroofs. My 89 GTU didnt have a sunroof, but my 90 GTU does. Its kinda hard to find, but they are out there.

Does anybody have or know of someone that might part with an 89-91 car without a sunroof?

Its actaully rare that i find a 1991 WITH a sunroof!

I have two 1991s that both dont ahve a sunroof.

I recently bought a red 1991 loaded, and it naturally has a sunroof.

(Also leather, rear wiper, cruise)

Yes for the structure and the weight savings. Sniper I am looking for something that has less than say 90k miles and that doesn't have a blue interior and that has never been wreck.

My 88GXL has a moonroof. I've never seen a factory sunroof before, just moonroofs.

Yo,

Node, if anyone hasn't told you yet, your Avatar is f*cking annoying. Just an FYI.

About the sunroof question, along with the increased rigidity, and weight savings, there are also some headroom issues. Easier to get a helmet on when going autocrossing. That, and with the sketchy nature of FC wiring, just one less thing that can go wrong. I drive a GTUs so this last issue helps me with: power windows, sunroof, and rear wiper. *grin*

all of the sudden I want a GTU w/ no options or a GTUs (same thing, just better parts and less likely to find at affordable price)

Yo,

It's 'cause the GTUs is DA BOMB. *snicker* King of the NA. Owner of IMSA. Sunroofless Stunnah. Heh. All I know is I wouldn't trade my GTUs for a TII OR an Third Gen. I like the reliability and control that you get with an NA motor spinning up to 8400rpm. And the /sound/! Woo hoo!

Main reason in my opinion is when you have a racing helmet on the sunroof is closer to your head and it bumps you around. I had a 1986 GXL with a sun roof and I could barely fit in there with my helmet on but my 1989 GTUs has no sun roof and it is great my head has no clearance problems.
