theft deterrent computer - 91
alright. i have taken out the hood latch and door lock wiring. however my theft system keeps arming. the fsm shows it under the glove box. however there is nothing under my glove box. it's getting annoying having to undo the battery everytime i accidently shut the door for 30 seconds. thank god i removed the horns. where is this located on the 91's so i can get rid of it?

On S5 models the factory alarm system is built into the CPU (body computer) not the ECU (engine computer).
Only on the S4 models is the factory security system located under the glove box.
90% of the time if the system is falsing, it is due to the door latch switches being dirty or mis-aligned. Are you sure that you have really removed the door wiring, and if you really have, the wires are probably shorting.
Removing the hood latch switch, would have nothing to do with falsing, unless the door latch switches were still wired in, and then the hood switch wire would have to be shorting to the body.
And it is not safe to drive on the street without a horn

why is it you guys from Ky always chop up your cars with no working horns or stuff like that??? Seems many of you would rather rip something out, than fix the car right

I have a real good question for you mark, my facotry alarm doesnt work, i know its becuase my CPU is kinda effed up, i know you know about this, anyways, i would like to install a viper alarm, which i dont feel like spending a day installing, i know how to do it and so theres really no "learning" i would get out of it, anyways, would the installer run into any problems with the factory alarm while installing the aftermarket? or should i take my CPU to you and you can fix it and disable the alarm at the same time?
im still VERY down to have you fix the CPU for me, i know you said it could potentially be a waste of time and money due to it possable malfunctioning at a later date, but i mean cmon man, i own an RX7 too, im used to finxing things and having others go bad on a constant basis, and on top of that starting next week its not my DD anymore, so i could truck the CPU up to you and you could fix it when you have some time. i would really appreciate this
let me know if you want to do it and if so how much
thanks

See the problem is the Vert with air bag CPUs. Imasen (the supplier) just did an absolute crappy job on them. Now if you have a coupe, or a vert without an airbag then that is a different story.
Talk to me again at the Nor Cal Rotary Fest on the 24th.
