Test Drove ported manifolds. I have a ?
Ok. Just test drove my 89GXL with ported manifolds. I cant tell to much of a difference because my clutch is slipping bad but I can tell that my power peaks past the normal 7200 to around just before 8. I still have stock manifold. I can tell in first gear at around 6300 rpms when I feel the car pull harder all the way through 8. Feels kind of like vtec actually.
Just to let you know I still have the 6th ports in with the rods and everything wired open so when I J/B weld them in I will take another test run. Also the car revs smoother
My ? is on my manifold porting. What I did was , I ported the bottom flanges slightly larger than the top ones so that way I didnt have to match them. I know that the air coming in is not hitting any walls. If thiers any flow chart experts who would like to help me on if this is any good than please do so. Thier is a noticable difference but I think it could have been bigger if I took out the rods and crap. But It might be my porting to so I dont know. Also I didnt have sleeves at all before.
