temp sending unit plug

I just finished putting a rebuild in my TII, but can't find the plug for the temp sending unit. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is it in a harness with other wires or by itself? I can't believe I can't find it. It's the only thing keeping me from starting the car up. On a related note, does not having the stock temp guage hooked up cause any problems? I did a search and read the car would run rich, while other posts say it doesn't matter. Reason I'm asking is I want to get an afermarket guage anyways. Thanks.

The FC has numerous temp sensors. Which one are you asking about?

Oh, sorry. Talking about hooking the stock water temp guage back up.

On an S4 it's a yellow wire with a black stripe, and comes from the emssions harness close to the wires for the air temp sensor, TPS and knock sensor. I'd expect the S5 to be the same.

Where's the one for the s5 for the ecu? I'm installing a S5 TII motor in my S4 n/a with a microtech. Also where is the temp sender for the gauge as well?

For all FC's, the ECU thermosensor is on the back of the water pump and the temp gauge is on the rear plate under the oil filter.
