temp guage not wrking

well i cant find out y my temp guage isnt working. the previous owner had rebuilt the engine and he sed when they dropped it bak in, it stopped working. It really concerns me becuz the car has no undertray and i dont kno if it runs hot or not. however all the plugs that have to do w/ temp are plugged in and all the fuses are fine. Would a bad thermostat cause this to happen?? also the Thermosensor has no lines running to it. can that be the problem??

Are you sure the wires are hooked up. The temp sensor is located near the oil filter. Just under it. And the second question, Are you talking about the intake air thermosensor?

Sounds like you'll have to get the FSM and an ohmmeter to test the sensor. Try getting a reading when cold then warm, then hot. I can't help you with the specs. I'd determine if the sensors work first. They are easier and cheaper to replace. than a gauge movement.
