Sorry to ask a question that's been answered a thousand times but I would like help identifying some hoses. I'm deciding to install my aftermarket gauge into the throttle body coolant line. Problem is that I'm not sure which line that is...

If anyone has pictures of theirs or just a picture showing which hose I need to put the tee in, it would be extremely appreciated!!! S4 N/A engine if that makes a difference in locations.

I think that's a terrible place to put a gauge sensor in, all the TB hoses/thermowaxes I've seen are full of corroded "silt", which tells me that flow is not very good.
There's a blind plug in the front iron (lower drivers side) that is a good spot, or maybe drill/tap the waterpump housing.

I'm trying to avoid the drilling of the water pump of tstat housing because I do not have the money to replace if anything goes wrong.

Do you have any more info on where that plug is at? My engine is an oily mess so finding stuff is a bit of a pain xD been cleaning and searching since you replied!

I'll look in the morning when it's light.
Meanwhile, clean your dirty engine and look for an allen key plug, IIRC it's just above the exterior tension bolt at the bottom of the iron.
If you have AC or PS it'll be hidden behind them.

That is what I did though sounds that is not the answer the OP is looking for. I personally like that location. Maybe the other location you speak of will pan out for him. I would not put it in any hoses personally.

I ended up rethinking it and made a compromise between the two. Went ahead and hacked my tstat housing for the sensor. No local machine or welding shops so i had to cut down that blank space a bit instead of having an adapter welded on.

When I get finished I'll put a pic up if all goes well.

You could have used the TII thermoneck which has a sensor on top of it and put your temp sensor there.

I'm newly moved so cash is a little strapped at the moment to buy a new neck. If this one would of broke or cracked it would have had to wait a month or more till I could get another.

Never having the right tools when I need them sucks haha. Ended up having to use air tools to do this, was quite... fun since I don't have a vice.

You may want to check the clearance of that probe when you put the neck on with the thermostat in place.
