Temp control question

Are the tempature controls physically connected the routing vent box in the dash or can I relocate them to the ash tray area? Provided I extend the wires. It would be an ideal place for me to put gauges.

you can relocate it without extending the wires to the bottom DIN location but the ashtray is a bit far and also probably not going to fit without hacking the console to hell.

yes you can extend the wiring and move it if that is what you plan on doing, there is no cables or hard wires, just electrical.

The Logicon location is actually a terrible location for gauges, being below your normal line of sight.
Be OK for slow moving, less important displays (fuel level, volts) but otherwise, not good.

Well I was going to put fuel pressure, water temp, oil pressure. I can set the warning on the gauge if one gets to high or low which would light up and draw my tention. I just dont want to clutter up my dash. I plan on keeping my boost and wide band up top ub thats it.

I wanted to install them where the stock gauges are and remove the old ones. Think these 52mm gauges might be to big though.

yep, you would need smaller gauges to fit the stock cluster without basically making a whole new one from scratch.

but you're talking a bit of work to move them up just a few inches and still in an obstructed location. may as well leave the logicon where it is, move the stereo down to the bottom DIN and put the gauges where the stereo normally lives.

i have also on one car put in a vented double 50mm pod where the center vent sits, removed the vent and installed the vented gauges. of course you will not be able to direct airflow any longer but that is the best alternative to moving everything around and best near eye level location.
