Yea K2 by far has the cheapest rates around. However be sure to properly read every series discription of the TEIN coilovers. they differ greatly as far as damping performance and road holding ability. For instance, there is one type of coilover that they sell that is SO STIFF from the factory it nearly undrivable on the street conditions IE: track only

TEIN makes one of the best shocks/strut/coilover/whatever you want to call it... around the industry.

Anybody else running the K2RD's? what's the difference between them and ground controls? Sorry I'm a little suspension illiterate when it comes to coilovers.Looking for a set to basically drive on the street/lower the car about an 1 to 1-1/2 inches with 17inch rims so I need something that's fairly civil on potholed/frost heaved streets. At what point do you need the camber plates? I take it if you want the car really low you are going to need additional camber adjustment, also heard the pillow ball tops are noisy, is that true?Don't mean to highjack your thread as it's info you are probably after as well...cheers JET

Haven't really found a place to buy ground controls, but they retail for$399.Was thinking of koni yellows with K2RD's as ted suggested...Are the camber plates necessary to obtain a drop of 1-1-/2 inches for street use? are tender springs a necessity also? as I was told the springs will flop around when you jack/unload the suspension. Was looking at a write up by MikeL from the teamFC3S forum and has a bit of a write up here.

JDM3:

Why don't you just get a good set of eibachs or something? The Teins cost an *** load of money and in many cases are so stiff, they hurt performance on real streets.
Lowering springs WILL make a big performance difference, especially when coupled with a good shock.

Just the fact that the car is lowered is already a benefit for handling, but I'm sure you arleady knew that. But if your going for the BLING factor of Teins or coil overs, I completely understand X]

You're really gonna get what you pay for, unless you happen upon a killer deal (like I did ) Seriously just practice patience, save the money, and woop some *** with some real coilovers. You can get Zeals in the US pretty easy now, and I heard the GP Sports are pretty good.

what would be a must if your going to drift your FC as far as Links, bushings, and camber adjust rods? What would you need and what wouldnt you need?

You really don't need any of that.
Polyurethane bushings will help with road and suspension feedback.

The (rear) camber adjust links are only to correct too much negative camber due to lowered suspensions.

I was looking for the same thing as you a while back. Heres my thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ght=suspension

I was looking for the best system under 1k, and i decided upon the eibach/AGX setup. I can get it from tirerack for $650. Best bang for the buck id say.

I would go with a coilover that has a spring rate that isn't too high. For daily driving, too stiff can actually reduce the amount of grip you have. Too stiff will reduce tire contact patch when going over small bumps and whatnot. K2RD offers the best balance on price, spring rate and performance for daily driven cars.

Already have some HKS springs ive scored from a friend. Think they are a 2inch drop. Dunno the spring rates but, I wanna run some Tokicos, KYBs or something better for drifting/daily driving
(anybody who REALLY drifts have any suggestions?)

ReTed so you say I dont need none of that? So just a good coilover setup and bushings would help for drifting you say? Thanks for the input fellas...

Hahaha, i like how you say "drifting/daily driving" as if they are the same thing. I just find that completley comical.
