good job so far Kevin,

Keep up the good work and let us know what kind of "seat of the pants" benifits you get(if any) Well, you've got a Turbo so you should notice alot better throttle response. And it "should" pull slightly harder up around 5000+

this is the reason right here why i hardly ever post here....old guys vs young guys.....

a young guy makes a silly comment and the old guys bitch and argue about it so much that the point gets lost...

hey older more experienced guys..instead of slamming on new, young and unexperienced members,..maybe you should be a mentor in the rx-7 community, teach people what you know and what your theories are instead of shoving them down thier throats and being an ***

if you are gonna be jerks why dont you throw a b16a vtec motor in your rex and call it a day

Its one giant flame war!
What do you guys accomplish by flaming so much?
Seriously, tell me.
I would like to know.
You guys act like a bunch of Honda owners!
You, sir, have a very delicate ego.
If you think that was flaming, you have no idea what a flame is.
ANYONE who wants to throw flames out from their car is an idiot, period.
Why would ANY sane person want to...
1) damage their engine due to backfires
2) damage their exhaust due to backfires

It's like the same scenario with idiots who like to do burnouts that have nothing to do with a sanction drag race...  Why would anyone want to...
1) Ruin perfectly good tires
2) Possibly damage the drivetrain and engine

WHY?  "Cause it's cool..."
Mature people would call it "IDIOTIC".

We can tolerate only so much crap, before we need to step up and say something.  This forum is open to discussion, but be prepared for criticism - not all of it maybe be correct.

If you're thinned skinned, I suggest go elsewhere.  We're not here to hold hands and stroke your ego so you don't cry.

Seriously people, the "general public" can only tolerate so much "bullshit".  If you're so worried about the bad treatment, why don't you tell all these idiotic posters to be a little intelligent with their posts?  Isn't it a double standard you blast the critics, but you leave the idiot alone???

THINK ABOUT IT

Another thinned skinned ego...

I'm really getting tired of the boo-hoo attitude.

I'm not here to pamper your delicate ego.  I'm not getting paid for this.

I guess it's open season to start dumping stupid posts just to **** everyone off.

Isn't it oxymoronic if I come in here and ask how to stuff a B16A VTEC motor into my RX-7, and you bitch about it?

Lesse...you got 30 posts credited to your nick.  Right now posts counts are the only way I can tell how helpful you've been in here.  It sure looks like you're not really contributing to helping ANYONE out in here.  If I'm wrong, please point me to the proof that I am...

WTF is this world coming to...

i have only 30 post in here because i use nopistons and teamfc3s most of the time.

and no i am not thinned skinned

as far as the v-tec motor comment.....read it again dude....it was a smart *** comment saying that some people act like ricers in here so why do you just throw a b16a in your car....it was a joke

and as far as me being an noobie or whatever you call it....i highly doubt that,,im no veteran on rotaries but im no noobie either. i worked as a rb26 and an sr20 engine builder when i lived in japan..but lets not dicuss that ..it has nothing to do with rotaries.....and apparantly the number of post on a chat forum reflects how much actual knowledge you have right??? give me a break

sounds like you are the one that needs the diapers to pamper you ego......but thats just my .02

this whole thing is actually quite funny..so ill just watch you "experts" with your 7821 posts and maybe ill become an arrogant ******* someday....damn no wonder rotary owners get bad names...

the simple answer to the whole "flame shooting" thing would have been ..."no" end of story ..

This is the main reason i never post on here, this forum is a ******* joke.

you have like 3 people who think they know everything and bash on anyone with a different idea or opinion. Then everyone else follows suit.

If anyone needs to grow up, i think its the 99% of people that posted in this thread, especially you RET.
I dont want to get into this argument, but i could tear apart a bunch of the things you said, just let it be known youre not the all mighty rotary know it all you think you are.

Now I've had a bottle of a nice central rangers shiraz...
Nice drop that one is... but Anyway! I feel somehow compelled to reply to this thread...

The rx7club has been an _incredibly_ helpful source of information and discussion for me, the people here have occasionally been harsh and unforgiving towards my comments/posts. To me this is a plus though, a big one. I don't have time for bullshit.

But you guys critisizing(spelling?) all these other people for being straight up about their own thoughts and _experiences_ dealing with FC's should maybe stop and think about what would be good for the majority of readers of this forum.
I personally read alllll about the TB mod before I did it to mine, I however, did removed the dashpot(the main throttle one, the only one on an N/A?). But not without knowing full well what it did. As I did with every part I took off my car.

To the original poster, don't get so negative about comments that go off on a slight tangent to what _you_ wanted, they are not always bad.

Anyway back to the topic! I think your porting looks ok, all though I really do doubt the effectivness of porting the throttle body at all, the factory casting does not all _that_ aerodynamically inefficient, at least not to myself..

And while im here hyjacking threads and casting out lines to catch some fishies , I've been hearing for ages about people that have problems with hesitations when removing those two 'extra' butterfly valves in front of the secondary throttle plates, why exactly does this happen? I've never had it happen to me and mine are long since gone.

fn hell... half the posts I've read on here lately have been whiners bitching about people correcting others incorrect info. As though the laws of physics and logic had nothing to do with it, and it's fine if we all have different opinions of how things work...

wonder how well a car company would do if they were happy for all their engineers to have different ideas about which bits did what

correcting dodgy info isn't ragging on anyone, it's saving others from the dodgy info. if people are so stupidly thin skinned that they can't accept they might make mistakes or not know everything, then they shouldn't post explanations for things in the first place.

gah.

there's too much said on this forum, that'd never be voiced in life.

You don't have to direct anything towards him or anybody, you're making a great point by staying general.

And he could be the god of Rotary, but he's no Judge Ito. Ito has tact.

There is something funny between rotaries and there owners. See,s alot of the "experts" believe that there was is the only way and if they think something is stupid and you like it than it _MUST_ be immature and you _MUST_ be 17. Being an "expert" from the mr2 forum, it is not supposed to be like this.

The buddy of mine who is a 1st gen guru has this same kind of attitude, maybe I will too after a while as well.... who knows.

This thread should not be Forum Vs. Forum. it's rediculous.

These forums were created to be a source of useful knowledge and a place to start some stupid threads, and maybe even some general useful information. When i see two forums going at it, i just shake my head in dismay, Close this thread before things get outa hand.

-Markus Reschny.

P.S. What? A guy can't even explain/ask questions about a TB mod without being patronized/critisized (sp) anymore

It's not old guys vs. new guys, that's just stupid. But you'll notice that quite often the younger guys don't like being told that they're wrong by older guys who've been doing this for a lot longer and have already made the same mistakes and learnt from it. If you think we come here because we like slagging off younger people then you need to get a does of reality. We come here to share and gather correct technical info on our cars.
hey older more experienced guys..instead of slamming on new, young and unexperienced members,..maybe you should be a mentor in the rx-7 community, teach people what you know and what your theories are instead of shoving them down thier throats and being an ***
How about you actually read the whole thread instead of just jumping on the whiners bandwagon. In my first post I corrected some wrong info and complimented him on his work. Did you miss that? How about you read the dozens of other threads where the older members share their years of experience and knowledge. How about you contribute something useful to this forum instead of this useless crap.

There is virtually no power gained from this mod. It will improve throttle response on Turbos but makes the throttle less tolerant of overly aggressive use. It will not have this benefit on NA's. It will not make flames. It's worth it if you have a Turbo.

This thread may not be the best place to get the info you want. If you do a search for other TB mod threads (use words like "throttle" and "mod") you'll find more helpful info.

Calling someone a communist and a **** just demonstrates complete ignorance. You obviously have no idea what either is. If you post incorrect info here, you will be called on it. Simple as that. I would hope it's the same in any technical forum. This in not a place where you can defend incorrect technical info by calling it your "opinion" and throwing a hissy fit when several other people tell you you're wrong.

teknics, it's a real shame your thread has turned into this, and I doubt it'll last much longer. I suggest when you've finished the work on your TB you post the pics in a new thread. I'm sure plenty of people (me included) would like to see them.
