TB broken? Help!

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Sorry for the size. Might have to copy/paste.

Is that normal? The one butterfly is open. I dunno if it's supposed to be like that. The car is stuck revving at 6k and I'm wondering if this is what's causing it. What would cause it to stick open like that? How do I fix it?

EDIT: pic of TB http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Again, large pic.

The plates behind it are what count, and they look closed. If your idle is 6k!!!!! wow, then you have a serious intake leak! I would first be looking at the BAC valve, thats messed.

Not to sure about the front plates, as I have none

What's a BAC valve? Where is it located? Thanks for your help.

In the 2nd pic it is the cylindrical thingy on the very back of the upper intake manifold with 2 hoses coming out of it. As to what it does, it has a great effect upon your idle speed and quality.

I checked all the hoses and gave it a good look around and it doesn't seem to be leaking.

The car has been sitting for a while and I think I fixed what was wrong, looks like the cruise cable jumped off where it was supposed to be mounted. Atleast I think that's what it was. I put it back and started up the car and it didn't jump to 6k. But the battery is dead. I jumped it but it just turned on and then died. I checked my MAF and it's plugged it. I'm gonna charge the battery and see if it wont stay on because it has no juice. Any other suggestions?

Yes. If your idle is still high, grab a bottle of carb cleaner, and start spraying it around vacuum hoses and various gasket areas around the intake system. Spray, and then listen, if the engine idle changes in any way, there is a leak around where you sprayed. This is the best method for finding vac leaks. Its either that or you could do what I did, and remove all the emissions, cap it off, and then wire up the last of the vac lines that you need and make sure that its brand new hosing/clamped.

That primary throttle (the bottom one) looks too far open. When the engine is cold the clearance between the throttle and the throttle bore should only be 0.016-0.020". When the engine's warm it should be even less.

There should be a little bit of slack in your throttle cable with your foot off the pedal. You should be able to lightly lift upwards on the cable at least a eighth of a inch without the throttle plates moving. If the plates move any amount by just touching the cable, then it's too tight. I'm talking about lifting the cable just before it connects to the bellcrank on the throttle body.

In short...the cable might be sticking somewhere and not fully returning to its stop.
