In tank fuel pump?

Hey, im just trying to help a friend out, he has an 86 n/a . im just trying to find out if the pump is in tank or not, i know on my 85 its not in the tank, but i figured it might be different with fuel injection and all. We have both searched the board and cant find much, also wondering how much you guys pay for a new fuel pump? had one priced out at 350 and 480$ This is for basically a stock application, no real mods to need more fuel.
Thanks in Advance!

Yup its in the tank. Theres an access panel on the left side of the car, under the floor mat in the rear storage area.

I'd simply grab another N/A pump off a board memeber here. Finding a stock replacement thats NEW is going to be big bucks like you have quoted there. Unless he wants to spend the money

If it was a TII I'd say just use a walbro......but alas...

Yep the walbro is just too high flowing of a pump for the N/A.

Check out the canadian for sale section (hint hint, I HAVE ONE OF THE PUMPS YOU'RE AFTER )
