Taking out engine, give me some ideas

Im removing my engine soon, and would like to know what else I can replace while itso ut to help fix some problems. the tranny is the main reason the engine is coming out. the clutch has failed and Im installing a new clutch and flywheel, so I figured why not go ahead and dro pthe engine too and fix some leaks Im having issues with.

For starters, I have an oil leak somewhere. Im thinking its the oil pan. I also have a coolant leak, but not sure where. Im thinking some of it is getting into the engine via coolant seals. Im going to install block off plates on the EGR, BAC Split air, and ACV while Im at it. Look for worn or split hoses, install new rear main seal, along with front cover and seal on the tranny. Can anyone think of anything else that would be smart to replace while the engine is out? I have already installed a new Pulsation Damper and replaced all the fuel lines. the engine has a rough idle with some pulsing. Im thinking vacuum leaks contribute to that issue. So, anything else that slipped my mind thats smart to fix/ replace while Ive gone this far?

Reason for not rebuilding is Im on a limited budget for now. Im out of work and living on little $, so Its something Ill have to love with. As soon as Im back into work I will begin saving up for a rebuild, until then itll have to drink some coolant and smoke a little

Maybe spark plugs, fuel filter, get the injectors cleaned and flowed. Some new motor and tranny mounts?

Intake gaskets and have your injectors cleaned with new o-rings and grommets.

You'll also need the coolant o-rings for the manifold.

Remove the thermowax and block off the coolant line on the rear iron and on the water pump housing.

If you have time why not have the manifolds cleaned to look like new again?

Thanks. Yeah, Forgot to mention I already have new injectors, and orings. Also the manifold is already pretty clean. Tranny mounts on the way and was thinking probably new competition engine mounts to go along with it as well.

No need to remove BAC and Thermowax. bac maintanes (sp) idle when various electrical loads are put on engine. Thermowax usefull for cold start idle. I am assuming you have an S4 T2 so i am going to stop there because i am n/a.

well bac is already not working due to a shitty wiring harness. plus its a bit on the ragged out side, so its probably best i block it off. and yes im s4 t2. the thermowax will probably stay, just cause i dont wanna really mess with it.

holy crap don't pull BAC and thermowax. my T2 has neither and it's SOOOO ANNOYING (not annoying enough for me to replace any time soon though given how often I drive it). until it gets near operating temp it's highly likely to stall.

turbo motor, allthough you would have to change out the rest of the drivetrain eventually, unless it is a turbo car already then, just some maintanence.
