taking my mufflers off
taking my mufflers off
Im going to Ennis Tx, this weekend for some races and my friends want to take my mufflers off. If I get pulled over on the way there am I going to get into any trouble? And is this going to give me a nice power increase?
I pulled my entire exhaust off once. Everything except the exhaust manifold. Then, I fired her up. HOLY ****!!! My ears were ringing for an hour! As far as getting into trouble, you will prebally get a pretty hefty fine for not being street legal. That is actually a pretty serious crime! Make sure you still have some sembelence of cats, as well. If they start snooping around your car, and find you have no/gutted cats, that is a Federal Offense, and can result in jail time, and a $10,000 fine! I would NOT reccomend doing this. Just take some tools, and remove em whenever you get to the races.

so basically i shouldnt do this, or if i do i shouldnt do it till i get there? The only reason i was going to do it before was because that my exhaust is sorta rusted on, and this guy im going with has some tools we can get it off with at his house (his dads a mechanic). So i think ill just leave them on.
I had to run around with no mufflers on my TII for a month or so. I was rallying up in the hills and the *** end came off the road, hit a rock, and ripped the **** out of my catback so I ganked it off. Now, I'm just putting a custom 3" catback with a N1 muff on there. It'll be a lot better.
Also, if your exhaust is ripped off, the exhaust will melt your carpet from the underside and fill the cabin with toxic smokey ****. It sucks.

Wheres AgentD at? he ran an 86base with a pacesetter header and a straight pipe all the way back, no cats or mufflers. he said he never got pulled and this was his daily driver too....
I ran my Turbo II for months without the stock mufflers and nothing in its place and never got a look, and if you do get pulled over they usually give you time to get it fixed. I say go ahead, but it's your call.

have fun at the track in ENNIS, went a few times when i was in Dallas. GO talk to Chris and Sky at Rotary Performance and get the N1 from them. Tell Sky that Kimo said hi and i will see her soon. and yes that is her real name.
oh yeah it wil depend on which way you are going to the track, if you are going to go down 45 from Dallas just before you get into ENNIS the cops can be *** there. going down 30 and crossing over they might now look at you untill you get close to ENNIS, all the state troopers will be in that area just because of the race tis weekend.
