taking forever to crank

taking forever to crank

hey, jsut got a rx7(89 gxl). everytime i try to crank it, it takes a long time, proly over 10 seconds. u gotta hold the crank then the combustion will start catching on and wil start running. u sometimes gotta tap teh gas. anything major?

give it a full tune up... and check the battery for full charge and lose connections.

after the car has been running, with a gun thermomator, check the temp of each of the spark plugs, they should all be around the same.

hey, jsut put in new plugs, didn't make a difference, actually made it worse. i read a post about the screw for air/fuel mixture. i'm gonna check that too while i'm at it. i'll post my progress. thankx alot

Does it start right up when its warm? or does it do the same thing?

hey, yea it does the same thing actually worse when it's warm. i'm not sure if the tps is working or not cuz i preced it in and out and the idle doens't change. i tried both of them.

full 60K mile service, check / replace the TPS, etc..
